چکیده
Abstract In marine basins, gas hydrate systems are usually identified by a bottom simulating reflection (BSR) that parallels the seafloor and coincides with base of stability zone (GHSZ). We present newly discovered system, Moby-Dick, located in Ship Basin northern Gulf Mexico. seismic data, we observe channel-levee complex consistent phase reversal BSR extending over an area ?14.2 km2, strongly suggesting presence hydrate. contrast to classical observations, Moby-Dick abnormally shoals 150 m toward from west east, which contradicts northward-shallowing seafloor. argue likely cause shoaling is gradually changing mix across basin, containing heavier hydrocarbons transitioning methane east. Our study indicates such abnormal BSRs can be controlled gradual changes influencing shape GHSZ kilometers on basin scale.

Clathrate hydrates of methane and other small alkanes occur widespread terrestrially in marine sediments of the continental margins and in permafrost sediments of the arctic. Quantitative study of natural clathrate hydrates is hampered by the difficulty in obtaining pristine samples, particularly from submarine environments. Bringing samples of clathrate hydrate from the seafloor at depths with...

Network operators, service providers and customers are players who have different interests and raise different requirements on the functionality of future mobile communication networks. However, some new capabilities, such as mobility, security, ubiquity and quality are spelled out by all, which means that there exist some fundamental mechanisms which are in fact needed in every network. This ...
